And also, standing shoulder to shoulder.......

........(again), with those that this Government is screwing over.

This was in my head when I woke up.

This cheered me up today.

Today hasn't been a good day, and there I was having a huge meh when this came on the radio.  It certainly cheered me up.

And here's another one...

......I'm using to rant at bigots.  I am common and poor.  I am poor as I am disabled.  I am not a chav, so next time anyone wants to sit in judgement of me, please get your facts right, there is a difference between a poor person and a chav.

Common People.

This is self explanatory really.  I am both common and poor!

Watching Glasto on TV with my daughter.........

..........and Morrisey is on.  That in itself is a wonderful thing.  But then he goes and sings this - one of my other favourite songs!!!!!!

Today I have been married for 21 years!

Corny, maybe, but when I met my husband I was a messed up teenager who drank too much and had a problem with solvent abuse.  I was terrified to commit and it took him around six weeks to even get a kiss out of me!

He was a football hooligan and I was a wild child, but after 21 years of marriage (23 years together) we have faced more than most people will ever have to in their entire lives.  I kinda get the lyrics to this because - I'm gonna be cheesy again - we literally saved each other.  Happy Anniversary babe, love you loads.

Trying to get back into the swing of things.

I've been ill for weeks.  You may know, I have blogged about this on tumblr.  But I am trying to get back into my life, it isn't without difficulty though.  When I feel so bad it really does get me down and me and my family say I have a meh - you gotta joke about stuff, even if you feel the pain is slowly killing you.  This is a good song for when you have a meh.

Does the north ever see sun?

Well, actually, yes.  Yesterday was a wonderful summery day, plenty of sunshine and warmth.  Today, however, on the day of the solstice........yep, it's raining.

Happy Father's Day.

Happy Father's Day to my husband from our kids.  And angel kisses to my own Dad who is spending his first Father's Day in the summerlands.

Urgh, boy bands!

I really don't care for boy bands.  Yes, my music maybe poppy trash (someone else's words, not mine) but I cannot abide boy bands.

At all.

So it pains me to say that this song is stuck in my head, won't budge and I find myself humming it and singing it.

Quite frequently.

Aaaaaaarrrrrrrrgggggggghhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!

Discovered this.....

......whilst searching you tube for yesterday's song.  I couldn't resist putting this on here, it's so bad and cringeworthy, I just had to!

Saturday's post.......a day late.

I had a very busy day yesterday, with one thing and another, and so the blog post didn't get done.  I only remembered about it at 1:30a.m. and by that time the computer had been turned off and I was trying to sleep.   And during my restlessness this song popped into my head.......I really don't know how my mind conjures up such thoughts, lol.

Wasn't going to have this, but.....

.......I was reading something, somewhere and some of the lyrics were being quoted.  So of course now it's stuck firmly in my head.

Controversial singers.......

.......are always guaranteed to clog up our news.  But blaming them for the sexualisation of children is quite wrong.  When I was a teenager Madonna was busy shocking the world with her antics and censorship was slapped on just about everything she did.
Rhianna cavorted on stage on the X Factor and whilst I don't know the ins and outs of that, mainly because I have no desire to watch the programme, I do know that someone should have realised what her act was like and warned her that her act would be broadcast pre watershed.  Surely that was only common sense, was it not?

Anyway, sexualisation of children is very wrong but it is our job as parents to boycott such singers and such fashion items that make our children into mini versions of Rhianna and Katie Price etc.  Nobody forces us to buy these items and the excuse that the child's friend has such an item is just not good enough, we are the parents of our children and we are responsible for what we allow them to dress like, see on T.V. and try our best to filter what they hear on the radio.  Yes, I know it can be very difficult but just because Rhianna is strutting her stuff like an alley cat on the prowl, it doesn't mean we MUST buy our ten year old daughters padded bras, high heeled shoes/boots, skirts that barely cover their bottoms and every goddam thing that is unsuitable.  We owe it to our children to let them be children and protect them for as long as we can from adult themes, accessories, clothing etc.  There is nothing wrong with our children being children and dressing like children and just because their friend has a bum-skimming skirt or dress doesn't mean we have to cave in and let our young daughter have one too, and then blame the pressures of fitting in, being left and the likes of Rhianna.

Anyway, enough ranting from me.  Here is Madonna in an unraunchy video.

Saturday, 4 June 2011

This song is from the film Trainspotting, a portrayal of life on drugs.  A woman who lives very close to me is a user and a dealer.  Her kids were neglected when they were younger, now they are becoming criminals themselves and causing misery for the rest of us.

I am not a drug user or dealer but living so close to one has forced me to bear witness to just how destructive this kind of life is; the neglect, the abuse, the criminal activities undertaken in order to buy the drugs, the enforced dealing and slippery slope into prostitution - and yes, all done in front of her kids.

It really angers me when the call for legalisation of drugs comes up.  I know some people can argue a strong case for this but their is a whole lot of other down sides to taking drugs as well as crime.  The anti social behaviour is immense and medical and pro people who don't have to live beside users don't get to see this, they fall for the stories of how life for a user would be much easier if they could get their drugs legally............
Alcohol is legal and people act in an anti social manner with that and so I guess legalising drugs would be similar, if not worse.  It isn't just about the criminal activities, it's about the effect the drug has on a person, making them into a monster and.....well, anti social person who makes others lives a misery.

Kind of poignant......
