Odd day.

It's been a very odd sort of day.  My head has been done in with stuff and I've been trying to get organised for Beltane.  This song sort of came to me when I was trying to remember the name of a half heard song in my car this afternoon.

In 2005 my Aunty died, very suddenly.  It was at that time I became unable to listen to this piece of music without thinking about one day my Dad would die.

RIP Dad.

You may, or may not, know that my Dad has been in hospital since February 5th.  Last night he lost his fight for life.  It's only been four months since my brother died, to say it's been rough is an understatement.  Life is tough, end of.
This song will always remind me of my Dad.

And this won't shift from my head today.

Finished at last!

A couple of Christmas's ago I received the complete set (season's 1-9) of The X Files.  I didn't start watching them straight away, I think I'd had them a year before I started.  But now I've finished them and so today's post is the theme tune from The X Files.

Today my brother would have been 30 - yes, the one who died in December.  As a kid he was terrified of the two songs I'm putting in today's post.  As he got older these songs became huge jokes for him as he laughed at his childhood fears.

Happy Birthday David, have a good one.

I most certainly do love trashy stuff and I'm not ashamed to admit it.  Doing the alternative option on the 30 day music challenge has certainly allowed me to bring out all my trashy likes.  When I was hunting for today's offering I came across this and remembered how I used to love the song and video.

It's funny how a certain song can just pop into your head just by some incident happening, or someone saying something.  This is what inspired me to do this musical blog, so many strange songs pop into my head and life because of incidents in my life etc.

Today I am choosing this particular song because I have been doing the 30 day music challenge and an alternative list and Dido was one of the artists I chose on the alternative list.  I have to say, I do love Dido and I can tolerate Eminem and for all this song is pretty grim I just love it.

Life is what you make it.

When I was a lot younger a work colleague used to always say this, "life is what you make it", and it used to drive me crazy.  But as I got older I realised just how true this is.
